Angelique Johnson-Dingle named NYSED Deputy Commissioner

Earlier this month, New York State Education Department (NYSED) Commissioner Betty A. Rosa announced the appointment of Angelique Johnson-Dingle to serve as Deputy Commissioner for P-12 Instructional Support.

In this role, Ms. Johnson-Dingle will oversee the areas of curriculum and instruction, special populations, early childhood education, school safety, career and technical education and expanded learning opportunities.

Together with the department’s new Deputy Commissioner for P-12 Operational Support and educators and stakeholders across the state, she will implement strategic plans and policies to create safe, nurturing and engaging learning environments for all students.

Ms. Johnson-Dingle, a NYSAWA member and leader of the organization’s Long Island affiliate, currently serves as the District Superintendent of the Western Suffolk BOCES.

She began her new role on March 17. For more information on Johnson-Dingle’s appointment, visit the NYSED website.

“On behalf of the NYSAWA board, we are so proud of Angelique for her unwavering pursuit of growth,” NYSAWA Chair Kristine Orr said. She, like many of our members, epitomizes NYSAWA’s mission through her actions and efforts.
